Senior Platform Engineer – Developer Experience & AI Enablement
Senior Platform Engineer
Senior Platform Engineer
We are looking for a candidate to help us grow Developer Experience as a modern internal product layer between Platform Engineering and development teams. Our goal is to build self-service tools, standards, automation, and processes that enable engineering teams to deliver software faster, more safely, and with greater autonomy.
This is a technical role for someone who can build internal products for developers, simplify the adoption of platform solutions, and introduce practical applications of AI into day-to-day engineering workflows.
Your mission will be to evolve Developer Experience toward an internal developer product platform that is self-service, well-documented, secure, and AI-supported.
You will create solutions that empower developers to independently leverage platform capabilities—ranging from infrastructure standards and CI/CD to automation, documentation, templates, and tools supporting daily team operations.
Build and develop self-service tools for engineering teams.
Transform solutions delivered by Platform Engineering into simple, consistent, and production-ready internal products.
Establish paved paths (golden paths) for common developer workflows.
Develop the developer portal, service catalog, templates, documentation, and integrations.
Design automation, generators, workflows, and developer productivity tools.
Co-create AI-assisted engineering standards: from AI usage policies and prompt templates to guidelines and secure workflows for code, documentation, and operations.
Support development teams in adopting new tools and standards.
Collaborate closely with Platform Engineering, SRE, Security, and Product teams.
Apply a product mindset to internal tools: identifying user needs, working with feedback, iteratively developing solutions, and driving actual adoption.
We Are Looking For Someone Who
Has a strong technical background but views developers as product users.
Can translate complex platform capabilities into a simple developer experience.
Enjoys building tools used by multiple teams.
Views automation and self-service as key drivers for scaling an engineering organization.
Collaborates effectively with platform teams without taking over their core responsibilities.
Leads change by example through robust standards, documentation, and hands-on implementations.
Takes a pragmatic approach to AI and wants to help establish standards for its safe use in engineering.
Requirements:
Experience in an organization where the platform was developed as an internal product for multiple engineering teams, working as a Platform Engineer, DevEx/Ops Engineer, or in a similar role.
Proven track record of building tools, automation, or self-service solutions for developers.
Programming skills required for internal tooling, integrations, and automation (e.g., Python, TypeScript, Node.js, Go, or similar technologies).
Strong understanding of cloud environments, particularly AWS.
Solid knowledge of Infrastructure as Code concepts, CI/CD, deployment strategies, and observability.
Ability to design clean, effective abstractions for developers.
Product mindset applied to internal tooling: user focus, feedback loops, adoption, and iterative value delivery.
Hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering or intentional use of AI in software engineering.
Strong technical communication skills and the ability to produce clear documentation.
Experience collaborating across multiple technical teams.
English proficiency for clear and fluent technical communication.
Nice to Have:
Experience with developer portals, service catalogs, or Internal Developer Platforms (IDP).
Familiarity with solutions supporting self-service, documentation, and service catalogs.
Experience creating developer templates, scaffolding generators, shared workflows, pipeline templates, CLIs, or APIs.
Hands-on experience with Terraform, OpenTofu, Terragrunt, or similar IaC tools.
Knowledge of Kubernetes, containerization, or GitOps.
Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tooling.
Ability to define recommended workflows and paved paths for engineering teams.
Understanding of cloud security, CI/CD security, and automation security practices.
Experience hosting workshops, training sessions, or tech demos.
Experience mentoring other engineers.
Track record of building custom plugins or integrations for developer portals.
Experience with AI-assisted coding, automated documentation generation, code review assistance, incident analysis, or developer assistants.
Awareness of AI risks: sensitive data exposure, secrets management, prompt injection, access control, output validation, and cost management.
Experience with FinOps, cost allocation, and cloud cost visibility for product teams.
Background in SaaS organizations.
AWS, Kubernetes, Linux, or security certifications.
